Metro Vancouver
Data quality: Strata strong, rentals partial
Strata buildings in all 21 Metro Vancouver municipalities, plus licensed long-term rental buildings in the City of Vancouver.
18,078strata buildings
3,469rental buildings (City of Vancouver only)
How complete is the data?
Strata is close to complete. If a strata plan is registered, it is here. Rentals are the big gap: only the City of Vancouver publishes rental licences, so purpose-built rentals in Burnaby, Surrey, Richmond and the rest of the region are missing entirely, and individual landlords' licences have no address. Expect most strata buildings but well under half of the region's rental buildings. BC Assessment's paid residential inventory would close that gap.

- ParcelMap BC (Land Title and Survey Authority): every registered strata plan, its lot count, registration date and location. Open Government Licence – British Columbia.
- City of Vancouver open data: 2026 property tax report (address, year built, zoning, value), 2026 business licences (rental buildings), building footprints. Open Government Licence – Vancouver.
- OpenStreetMap (ODbL), BC Address Geocoder, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons: names, floors, addresses and photos.
Quality
- Strata plans and lot counts come straight from the land title registry, so they are authoritative. This is the best unit-count data of the four cities.
- A strata lot is not always a home: some plans include commercial, parking or storage lots, so counts can run a little high.
- Building names are thin: about 10% of buildings, and 26% of those with 20 or more units. Floor counts cover about 21%.
- Rental buildings have no unit counts at all; the licence data does not record them.

Austin metro
Data quality: Good, but unit counts mostly estimated
Apartment complexes and condo buildings with 5 or more units in Travis, Williamson and Hays counties.
2,583apartment complexes
601condo buildings
How complete is the data?
Good for the three core counties: the appraisal roll lists every taxable property, so few apartment complexes should be missing. Gaps: Bastrop and Caldwell counties are not included; buildings under 5 units, townhomes and duplexes are left out by design; some publicly owned or tax-exempt housing may be missing; and a few complexes coded as general commercial may slip through. Expect roughly nine in ten of the region's apartment and condo buildings.

Sources
- Travis, Williamson and Hays Central Appraisal Districts: 2026 appraisal rolls, which are public records. They give property type, owner, value, floor area, year built and business name.
- US Census Bureau geocoder and TIGER boundaries (public domain): locations, city and county lines.
- OpenStreetMap (ODbL) and Overture Maps: extra names, floors and fallback locations.
Quality
- Every property comes from the official tax roll, so what is listed is real and current to 2026.
- Unit counts are the weak point. 68% are estimated as floor area ÷ 950 sq ft; only Travis County apartments and counted condo units have real numbers.
- Names are good (93%, from the business name the district recorded) but can be out of date after a rebrand.
- 96% are on the map. Census geocodes are interpolated along the street and can be off by a block.

Greater Taipei 大臺北
Data quality: Strongest of the four
Apartment buildings in Taipei City and New Taipei City that have registered a management committee or building manager with the city. These are Taiwan's equivalent of strata or condo buildings.
17,403managed buildings
14,889with a management committee
How complete is the data?
Complete for what it covers, but it covers only buildings that registered a management organisation. Taipei reports about 73% of eligible buildings had registered by March 2025; New Taipei publishes no rate. Missing are older walk-up buildings that never formed a committee, which are also the least likely to buy community software. Permit unit counts start in 2001–02, so older buildings rely on estimates.

- Taipei City Construction Management Office and New Taipei City Public Works Department: registers of building management organisations, and occupancy permit records with unit counts, floors and completion dates. Open Government Data License 1.0 (compatible with CC BY 4.0).
- Taipei City and New Taipei City doorplate registers (3.1 million door and floor entries): locations and unit estimates.
- OpenStreetMap (ODbL): building outlines, district boundaries and the basemap.
Quality
- Names, addresses and registration come from the cities' own registers, which are authoritative.
- About half the buildings have an exact unit count from their occupancy permit. Most of the rest are counts of registered doors and floors, which is accurate for small and mid-size buildings. It undercounts big complexes (300+ units), often by half, and counts shops with their own door.
- 96% are on the map, placed from the cities' own address points rather than a geocoder.
- Almost no English building names exist. Districts and cities are in English and Chinese.

Bangkok area กรุงเทพฯ
Data quality: Weakest, use for orientation only
Registered condominiums and rental apartment buildings in Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan.
4,656registered condos
8,511apartment buildings
How complete is the data?
Registered condos are close to complete: only very new projects whose unit deeds are not yet issued should be missing. Only about two-thirds of them are on the map, though. Rental apartments are the weakest part of any of these maps. They are only what people have put on OpenStreetMap and Overture, plus the low-rent survey. That is probably under half of the area's rental buildings, with mid- and upper-market rentals most likely missing. Real unit counts would need the Department of Lands' registration file (estate@dol.go.th).

- Treasury Department condominium appraisal list: every condo with unit title deeds, with name, district, buildings and floors. This is the master list. Published on gdcatalog.go.th as "Open Data Common".
- National Housing Authority: registered condo projects with unit counts (public housing), a 2021–22 survey of low-rent apartments with room counts, and project location maps.
- OpenStreetMap (ODbL) and Overture Maps: locations, English names and most apartment buildings.
Quality
- The list of condos is authoritative, but almost nothing else is. 97% of condo unit counts are estimates (floors with flats × typical flats per floor). The total checks out against land-office figures, about 1.05 million units in Bangkok, but single buildings can be far off.
- Condos are placed by matching their Thai names against open map data in the same district. 63% matched; some matches are loose and marked as such. The rest are listed by district but are not on the map.
- Apartment buildings come from crowd-sourced map data. Only low-rent ones from the housing survey have room counts.
- The licence named on the government files ("Open Data Common") could not be found, so its terms are unconfirmed.
